Just as the moon controls the tide, people have believed for centuries we can control our dreams. Dream catchers are used by the indigenous people of the Great Plains for nightmares to pass through while allowing dreams to reach the person in slumber.

Today, tides bring both dreams and terrors. The sea is kind enough to wash our discarded glass back ashore with a new and softer quality. However, beachcombers have to rummage through cigarette butts, plastic bags, and other fragments of our disposable society to find these special trinkets.
